This morning, while whiping-down the handles with a cloth, I noticed that some of the brownish/tanish mottling on the surface of the handles was actually whiping off ...
it seems that some of that coloring was natural aging of the horn, but a fair bit of it was being caused by the rust on the pins, and possibly the tang.. ?
a bit more rubbing with the cloth produced...
I noticed it was all starting to shine up fairly nice , also. So, I decided to see what the buffing/polishing pad could do for it.
Hard as heck to capture how it looks properly, on camera- but the handles are now shining like glass.
Im going to take it to the office with me tomorrow, and hand-sand it a bit with some fine-grit , then go over it once more with the buffing pad...
